Beaune to Barcelona by bike
Since I was enjoying the recumbent so much I decided that cycling to Spain would be a good idea. I didn't have time to cycle all the way from England and so started at Beaune, just south of Dijon, in France. For two reasons: It was just over 1000km so I could do it in two weeks, and European Bike Express could take me and the bike there.

Tantalising glimpse
I didn't get to find out the name of this intriguing little chateau, quite striking, though largely all chateau are of course.
Climbing again
The river below was very pretty, it was peppered with canoing stops and places to camp and paddle, not that I cared, I was sweating upwards, waving to what might have been the same kite/eagle that I'd been seeing for some day's now.
what goes up
must come down, and again it was great tarmac, descents with curves... what a delight.
Flat, and hotter
It was flat, which was something, but it was getting hotter and in this part of the ride I had to cross underneath and around a couple of large roads one of which was a motorway, the A75. I had run out of water and I was starting to melt, if I stopped I felt a bit dizzy, the answer of course was not to stop ;-)
