Two day cycle trip to Simonburn
This was a two day trip, firstly to Stamfordham for an overnight in Church House, a beautiful B&B, and then on to Simonburn, just south of Wark in Northumberland. We largely followed the Reivers' Route except for the start where we took a even more traffic-free route to Camperdown via a bridleway from Holy'stone.

The View
and this is the view, except much more attractive than this, it's a wide open sky valley.
The church is old, of course, and so the gravestones are too, a lot of people dying as children, and whole families, including, in at least one case, the second wife. But I particularly liked this simple wooden cross.
Leaving Stamfordham
A bright sunny morning, we'd eaten the best hamburgers we've ever eaten at the Bay Horse Inn the night before and drank a few nice beers in the Swinburne Arms to follow and so we'd slept well in spite of the aching legs and were bright eyed and bushy tailed.
View back to the church
The view back to the church in Stamfordham where we'd spent a couple of happy hours the night before.
