Two day cycle trip to Simonburn
This was a two day trip, firstly to Stamfordham for an overnight in Church House, a beautiful B&B, and then on to Simonburn, just south of Wark in Northumberland. We largely followed the Reivers' Route except for the start where we took a even more traffic-free route to Camperdown via a bridleway from Holy'stone.

Prestwick Carr
In between Dinnington and Ponteland is this single track road. The tarmac is lumpy and broken and it makes interesting riding trying to ride the ridges and avoid the holes.
On the move
I tried a few photos whilst riding but they all came out blurry, this one though, in spite of that, I like.
Is that Simonburn?
It's not of course, this is just after riding through Darras Hall using the cyclepath/bridleway you come out and cross fields before joining the small country lane that takes you into Stamfordham.
Stamfordham
But this is Stamfordham, to be precise it's just behind the church which came to be our favourites spot. When we arrived Viv and David, the proprietors of Church House the B&B, were out and we passed the time sitting on a bench just here and gazing out west up the valley.
