Simonburn
North west of Hexham just off the B6320 before Wark, we found a nice little village called Simonburn. A very pretty little village that was the start for a small circular walk and the end point for tea in an idyllic little tea-shop.

Slaterfield
Another big gap in the photo record, no photo of Burn House for instance. Burn House might not be the name but some advice on what to do to it. Great spot but the house was a wreck. Walking up the hill was a beautiful house, once a dower house for Allgood Farm I think, called Slaterfield. It had these extensive fields of barley in front of it.
This is the first time I've actually seen a path cut through a crop, strange since that is the law, but a lot of farmers seem to ignore it.
Dexter Dog
The Simonburn Tea-room/Post Office and B&B is the most gorgeous place. A delightful country garden with two pet Aylesbury ducks at the bottom of the garden, tame sparrows that ate Pips' scone, and this small eleven week old West Highland White puppy, called Dexter, that we played with. Oh and a laburnum tree next to the dovecote at the bottom. We didn't want to leave. The rollover image is a close up of Dexter, he came on a bit quick, anxious to bite the camera as a bit of a change from my hand.
